Who we Are

Boiler and Industrial Plant was founded in 1974 by Alwyn Swanepoel, who began the business from his garage in Durban. Through dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to quality, the company has grown from a one-man operation into a nationally recognised leader in the engineering industry.

Today, Boiler and Industrial Plant operates from its own premises in Glen Anil, Durban, with a team of approximately 75 skilled employees. The company also has fully operational branches in the Western Cape and Gauteng, allowing us to serve clients across South Africa with efficiency and consistency.

Our reputation is built on the high standards of our workmanship — whether on-site or in our well- equipped workshop. Every project is managed with meticulous attention to detail, supported by continuous project oversight and regular site inspections to ensure safety, compliance, and client satisfaction.

In December 2022, the company entered an exciting new chapter. The management team, with the support of the Swanepoel family, completed a strategic management buyout facilitated by Entruevest. This transition has strengthened our foundation and unlocked new growth opportunities, positioning Boiler and Industrial Plant for continued success — to the benefit of our clients, employees, and all stakeholders.
