With 13 years of dedicated service at BIP, Andries Verster has progressed from Technical Sales Representative to General Manager — and for the past 2 years, has served as our Managing Director. His strategic leadership, industry knowledge, and commitment to excellence have played a key role in driving the growth and success of Boiler and Industrial Plant.

Derick joined BIP in January 2021 and brings over 25 years of experience in boiler systems and control technologies. A Red Seal trade-tested electrician with a strong mechanical background, Derick specialises in boilers and burners, automation, technical sales, and electrical-mechanical support. As Services Manager, he plays a key role in ensuring efficient operations and delivering reliable service to our customers.

JJ Barnard began his career at Boiler and Industrial Plant at the age of 17, gaining hands-on experience in the workshop and on-site, learning the industry from the ground up. After a two-year stint in the UK to broaden his technical experience, he returned to BIP and led teams on a range of major installations, including fuel and water tanks, boiler retubing, structural repairs, and complete steam and condensate line installations.

With a strong technical foundation, JJ transitioned into sales under the mentorship of Alwyn and Bryan Swanepoel. After several successful years in the sales team, he was promoted to Technical Sales Manager, and more recently to Commercial Sales Manager, where he now leads sales strategy and client engagement across key industrial sectors.

AJ has been part of the BIP team for over 13 years, bringing a wealth of hands-on experience to his role as Technical Sales Manager. He started in stores, worked as a field technician for six years, and has spent the past six years in sales. His practical background and in-depth product knowledge make him a valuable asset to both the team and clients.
